Cannabis products are usually consumed by smoking the leaves or flowers of the marijuana plants. Although this is a potent method to get the cannabinoids into your bloodstream, it has all the disadvantages of smoking regular tobacco products, including the danger of lung cancer and general damage to your respiratory system.
For this reason, many prefer to take their cannabinoids in the form of Cannabis Oil Pills.
With cannabis oil pills, you can get all the benefits of typical medical marijuana use without the side effects of smoking.
Typically preferred by people who suffer from respiratory problems and those who want to avoid smoking for health reasons, these pills are a better way to get your THC and CBD.
In this article, we’ll cover anything you need to know about THC pills that also contain cannabidiol.
Cannabis Oil Pills vs. Smoking Marijuana
Aside from smoking being a general health hazard, there are plenty more reasons why taking your cannabinoids in pill form might be a better option for you. Here are some examples:
- Pills have a steadier dosage. It’s never certain how much THC and CBD you will get from each marijuana plant. With the oil, you receive a steady and predictable result.
- Pills don’t smell. Not everyone wants the smell of smoked cannabis in their home, both for social reasons and personal preference.
- Pills don’t ruin your home. Smoking anything in your home will cause walls to yellow and fabrics to deteriorate and will give your home a dirtier look.
It is absolutely recommended that children should never smoke cannabis. Also, if you suffer from asthma or other respiratory illnesses, you should never smoke your medical cannabis, because it might actually make your symptoms worse.
The Potential Benefits of Cannabis Oil Pills
THC is the most sought after substance in cannabis as it is the main psychoactive agent. THC causes the brain to release more dopamine, which causes a state of euphoria, relaxation and a high. There are side effects to taking THC, and it is an addictive substance. Always ask your physician before choosing to medicate yourself with cannabis.
CBD, on the other hand, is a non-psychoactive cannabinoid that offers some of the potential benefits of THC without causing a high. Customers have said CBD helps provide a sense of calm and relaxation and can help soothe discomfort, though our products are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical conditions.
How are Cannabis Oil Pills made?
It is actually quite easy to make cannabis capsules.
First, you have to choose the cannabis strain that is most likely to contain the right amount of THC and CBD. It is best to choose a high-CBD and low-THC strain at first.
The flowers of your cannabis strain need to be baked. Around 5.5 to 7 grams of cannabis needs to be placed in an aluminum foil bowl and baked in the oven at 225 degrees Fahrenheit for 20 minutes.
The baked cannabis is ground into a fine powder and added to coconut oil. Seven grams of cannabis need a tablespoon of oil. More oil makes the pills lighter, and less oil makes them more potent.
Can Relieve Pain
Marijuana has been used to treat pain as far back as 2900 B.C. .
More recently, scientists have discovered that certain components of marijuana, including CBD, are responsible for its pain-relieving effects.
The human body contains a specialized system called the endocannabinoid system (ECS), which is involved in regulating a variety of functions including sleep, appetite, pain and immune system response .
The body produces endocannabinoids, which are neurotransmitters that bind to cannabinoid receptors in your nervous system.
Studies have shown that CBD may help reduce chronic pain by impacting endocannabinoid receptor activity, reducing inflammation and interacting with neurotransmitters .
Several human studies have found that a combination of CBD and THC is effective in treating pain related to multiple sclerosis and arthritis.
An oral spray called Sativex, which is a combination of THC and CBD, is approved in several countries to treat pain related to multiple sclerosis.
One study of 47 people with multiple sclerosis examined the effects of taking Sativex for one month. The participants experienced improvements in pain, walking, and muscle spasms. Still, the study didn’t include any control group and placebo effects cannot be ruled out .
Another study found that Sativex significantly improved pain during movement, pain at rest and sleep quality in 58 people with rheumatoid arthritis .
Anxiety and depression are common mental health disorders that can have devastating impacts on health and well-being.
According to the World Health Organization, depression is the single largest contributor to disability worldwide, while anxiety disorders are ranked sixth .
Anxiety and depression are usually treated with pharmaceutical drugs, which can cause a number of side effects including drowsiness, agitation, insomnia, sexual dysfunction and headache.
What’s more, medications like benzodiazepines can be addictive and may lead to substance abuse .
CBD oil has shown promise as a treatment for both depression and anxiety, leading many who live with these disorders to become interested in this natural approach.
In one Brazilian study, 57 men received either oral CBD or a placebo 90 minutes before they underwent a simulated public speaking test. The researchers found that a 300-mg dose of CBD was the most effective at significantly reducing anxiety during the test.
The placebo, a 150-mg dose of CBD, and a 600-mg dose of CBD had little to no effect on anxiety.
CBD oil has even been used to safely treat insomnia and anxiety in children with post-traumatic stress disorder .
CBD has also shown antidepressant-like effects in several animal studies .
These qualities are linked to CBD’s ability to act on the brain’s receptors for serotonin, a neurotransmitter that regulates mood and social behavior.
Can Alleviate Cancer-Related Symptoms
CBD may help reduce symptoms related to cancer and side effects related to cancer treatment, like nausea, vomiting and pain.
One study looked at the effects of CBD and THC in 177 people with cancer-related pain who did not experience relief from pain medication.
Those treated with an extract containing both compounds experienced a significant reduction in pain compared to those who received only THC extract .
CBD may also help reduce chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting, which are among the most common chemotherapy-related side effects for those with cancer .
Though there are drugs that help with these distressing symptoms, they are sometimes ineffective, leading some people to seek alternatives.
Some test-tube and animal studies have even shown that CBD may have anticancer properties. For example, one test-tube study found that concentrated CBD induced cell death in human breast cancer cells .
Another study showed that CBD inhibited the spread of aggressive breast cancer cells in mice .
1 thought on “THC oil Pills”
I’ve never tried edibles or oil because being high for 6 hours sounds like a nightmare if you’re someone who sometimes gets bad trips. I think I’ll try something eventually but definitely going to start by very small dosing.
