The Mighty along with a smaller version called the Crafty are the newest line of portable vapes from the company who made the original Volcano desktop vaporizer that is still great today more than a decade later. Storz & Bickel have done it again and leave almost nothing to be desired with these newest introductions.
As far as top vaporizers are concerned, the Mighty is certainly a contender. Many reviews hail it as the best portable vape on the market today. Is it really? Let’s take a look at some of the pros and cons before we get into the full review, shall we?

The Review
The Mighty vaporizer is awesome. For those who ever used the Volcano, you are already familiar with the kind of quality we all expect now from Storz & Bickel.
The Mighty works like a charm every single time producing clouds of pure tasting, highly potent vapor. I was and am still amazed at how much vapor I see when I exhale because it goes in so smooth I hardly feel it.
Even though the heating chamber is right at the top of the unit, the vapor is always cool and I find it really brings out the natural flavor of the plant quite nicely.
Using The Mighty brings me back to the days I used my Volcano exclusively and I must say, it kinda feels like having a Volcano you can take with you on the go. The look and feel of the digital display are reminiscent of the Volcano and the purity of the vapor with both The Mighty and The Crafty is pretty much on-par with their original desktop grandfather.
I personally prefer the larger Mighty to the smaller version mainly because it lasts for twice as long per charge. The Mighty features two batteries, which when charged last a good 90 minutes of use where the smaller Crafty uses only one making it more pocketable, but will only give about half that or 45 minutes of use per charge (see image above for size comparison).
More than just battery life alone, I have also come to rely on the digital reading of temperature settings and remaining battery life which is only available on the larger Mighty.
There is an app available with the Crafty you can download for your phone that allows for a display on your phone as seen on the right, and allows you to change the setting that way, which is pretty cool but I still prefer to have everything integrated.
The Mighty is probably among the easiest portable vaporizers on the market to use. It’s digital display shows both the current and set temperatures and it will actually vibrate when the proper temperature is achieved in case you aren’t paying visual attention.
As far as vapor quality is concerned, The Mighty rivals the best vaporizers out there, including it’s grandfather, the Volcano, and delivers some of the purest most potent vapor.
It is fantastic and reliable and once you find the perfect temperature for the strain and humidity of herb you’re using it works like a charm every single time. As with most vapes, I like to raise the temperature slightly throughout the session to really get the most out of my herb which is easier on the Mighty than the Crafty just using the buttons on the side of the unit.
Usually I am not a huge fan of plastic components as they tend to leave a slight taste, but even though The Mighty uses a totally plastic mouthpiece, I don’t get any of the plastic taste I would expect. Maybe because it stays so cool even after extended use. I don’t know, but it works exceptionally well.
Using the Mighty could not get any easier. Simply select your desired vaping temperature, open up the top of the unit as shown below, fill the stainless steel oven with some herb, wait a few seconds to warm them up and vape away. It really doesn’t get any easier than that.
For anyone with trouble with fine motor skills, this may be the one to get. The size of the chamber and the configuration make it the easiest portable vape to set up and keep clean and it will take a serious beating and keep right on going. Along with the original DaVinci vape, this is probably the most rugged, durable and shock resistant portable vaporizers on the planet.
Overall both the Mighty and the smaller version the Crafty are fantastic and produce some of the cleanest, most potent vapor of any portable vape. If the price was lower I would recommend it more strongly, but like the Volcano, it is possible to get results virtually identical in units less than half the price.
The Verdict
The only real downside to The Mighty other than the slight bulkiness of the unit itself, is the price. At about twice the price of most other portable vaporizers on the market, the cost makes it slightly out of reach for some and many shy away.
Like the original Volcano, you do get what you pay for. The Mighty is arguably one of the best portable vaporizers on the market and will please even the most seasoned vaper.
That being said, based on the price tag, most end up choosing either the Solo or the Ascent because they produce results pretty much on par with the Mighty at about half, if not less than half the price. In reality, the differences in vapor quality between the three are quite negligible.
I don’t want to sound in any way negative about this vaporizer because it is absolutely fantastic. If you aren’t on a strict or tight budget, I would absolutely recommend both The Mighty and The Crafty to anyone. The same as I would recommend the Volcano in the desktop category.
That being said, for most, the Arizer Extreme Q is the desktop vaporizer of choice because the results are on par but the sticker is half or less than half the price. Same thing here. If you can afford it, go for the Mighty, you’ll be glad you did. If it’s a little steep for your current budget, check out the Ascent, the Solo or even the new Air.
If you do think that this is the vape for you, check it out. I can guarantee, you won’t be disappointed. For those who like this vaporizer but would rather something a little smaller and more stealthy, each retailer below carries the Crafty too. Enjoy!
Have a 2015 crafty that had the button break. Finally got a Mighty the other day. WOW! Falling in love all over again.
